Activities While Waiting Out a Storm
People handle news of storms differently. While many run out to grab as much food and supplies with their emergency money as they can, others just stay chill about it and even make plans to throw indoor parties. So if a storm is coming around your area, no problem. Below are a few things you can do to pass the time while letting the typhoon run its course.
Enjoy Some Wine
You can do this all by yourself, or you can have some company to indulge in wine with you. You can even invite your dog, although you shouldn’t pour your canine buddy any wine (just give him biscuits).
Play Board Games
Who says game night is just for kids? Board games are for everyone, whether you’re ten or fifty years old. So whip out your favorite games (e.g., Secret Hitler, One-Night Werewolf, and Exploding Kittens) and brace yourself for a very wild night.
Give Yourself a Makeover
With a storm coming, you’ll have plenty of time to work on your makeup styles. So while waiting it out on your home, best give yourself a new, rocking makeover. Oh, and don’t forget to post a selfie or two on Instagram.
Turn On the Karaoke
Do you have your own karaoke set at home? Then you might as well turn it on while the typhoon rages outside your home. Try songs like “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Eye of the Tiger,” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart” for starters.
Bake Something
Another great activity to do during storms is baking. With lots of baking videos available on Facebook and Youtube, finding a recipe that you’d like won’t be too hard. Or you could get five ingredients in your kitchen and invent a recipe of your own.
Unleash Your Creativity
Because who doesn’t like getting crafty every once in a blue moon? If you’re into arts and crafts, then now’s the best time to make something cute and useful. And like baking, there are lots of tutorials and videos online if you don’t know where to start.
Reorganize Your Bedroom
A stormy day or two provides an opportunity for you to clean up or even revamp your bedroom. So if you haven’t cleaned up your room these past days, now’s the perfect time to get out your vacuum cleaner and start getting your room back in shape.
Try It Out
The non-boring things listed above are guaranteed to keep you occupied while a typhoon is brewing outside. So the next time you’re in for a stormy night, try doing any of these activities instead of needlessly wasting your security cash.
