Kilometer Zero

Sabi nila “Magiging mali lang ang isang desisyon pag hindi mo ito kayang panindigan.”

Barefoot running in the grass, you can feel the world beneath your feet, maliwanag ang buwan na para bang sumusunod sa bawat hakbang mo and you wonder how the moonlight can keep pace with you.

Feeling the world turning around you with your eyes closed is like tuning in to the rhythm of the universe—Ikaw parin naman yung batang mahilig maglaro ng karera noon, na kahit gaano ka kapagod, tatakbo ka nang mabilis huwag lang mahuli, huwag lang matalo.

Malayo pa, pero malayo na.

When we were younger, andami dami nating gustong gawin in life. Andami nating pangarap after we graduate, “gusto ko sa gantong company”, “ganto ang gusto kong job”, we have plans and goals already. But realizing how these plans change sa paglipas ng panahon, hindi pala lahat ng dreams, magfi-fit sayo.

Magpatuloy ka lang…  padayon, ika nga nila.

Driving your car, 366 kilometers away from Rizal Monument, malayo-layo ka na rin pala since nung nag-decide ka na bumangon sa higaan mo, took a shower, grabbed your keys, fastened your seat belt, checked your engine and checked your side mirrors. Malayo ka na rin pala.

Failures may come along the way. Every little bump on the road represents struggles. Parang gusto mo nalang mag-stop, and some people push you to your limits. “Dapat ganito dapat ganyan.” Nakaka-pressure and you’ll be rushed. Tapakan mo man ang accelerator, para lang makasabay sa takbo ng mundo.

No U-Turn, No turning back. Every mile is a testament to your strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit on the journey to success. You won’t move forward if you’re weighed down by regrets. You only need to pause, not to halt completely.

Kung full load ka ng knowledge and experience, hindi ka maliligaw. Ikaw ang driver ng sarili mong buhay, just trust the map, and you’ll navigate through challenges with courage, forging a path towards your dreams with purpose and determination. Keep your gaze straight ahead and focus. Dwelling on your past wrong decisions does not hold significance as you ride the wheel of life.

Looking in your rearview mirror serves as a reminder that no matter how far you’ve come, glancing back at where you started and reflecting on the lessons learned helps you reach your destination.

Along the way, you’ll encounter lots of people; people who are easy to come, some easy to go.

Along the way, you’ll be distracted sa mga makukulay na billboards at mataas na building, and you’ll be stuck dahil naabutan ka na ng red light, mapapatitig ka sa makulay at magandang billboard sa Eastwood na may pamilyar na kataga, #PwedePala. Sa unang pagkakataon mapapatigil ka at mapapaisip dahil sa harap mo nakasulat din ito sa likod ng pampasaherong bus, and suddenly you’ll grab your phone to check your social media apps. Makikita at maririnig mo isang pamilyar na boses, isang lalakeng in-interview, looking happy and proud.

Finally it sinks in.

Ikaw yung nasa interview. Interview tungkol sa iyong pag-angat sa buhay.

Gaano ka na ba kalayo from your “Kilometer Zero”?

You have definitely come a long way since you decided to believe and trust your ka-partner. Walang iba kundi ang iyong sarili. Lulan ng pangarap at paniniwala na lahat ng bagay sa mundo na nais mong makamtan ay mangyayari kapag nagsimula kang magdesisyon na gawin ito.
