Little-Known But Great Summer Vacation Spots in Mindanao Part 2
Despite numerous travel advisories and the stigma that surrounds it, Mindanao still offers some of the best travel destinations you’ll ever visit. So if you’ve just got a big cash loan, have pledged your vehicle for collateral, or are just plain bored of city life, here are four more summer vacation spots you should consider going to.
Panampangan Island, Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi
The 12-hectare Panampangan Island is definitely one of the most breathtaking yet less known summer destinations in the Philippines. It has towering palm trees, clear waters, and exquisite white sands. A 3.1-kilometer long sandbar also emerges from the deep during low tides, allowing you access to a neighboring island, a fantastic coral reef, and the abundant marine life that lives in it (i.e., unspoiled turtles, sea urchins, colorful fishes, and pristine corals). Despite all these, however, it receives relatively fewer tourists than other favorite spots.
Lapsay Lagoon, Taganaan, Surigao del Norte
Surigao del Norte is a province that never ceases to amaze visitors, and a new summer destination was introduced recently that’s guaranteed to boost further its already thriving tourism industry. The Lapsay Lagoon in the town of Taganaan may not be as well-known as the Tinago Island right now, but it’s still worth visiting. Aside from making lots of good memories, you’ll also get to enjoy its serene beaches, fresh and delicious seafood, and relative privacy.
Gumasa Beach, Glan, Sarangani
Situated in Glan, the southernmost town of Sarangani province, is Gumasa Beach, a long coastline that features white sand shores, clear waters, virgin flora and fauna, and many more. Despite being known as the Boracay of the South, Gumasa Beach remains relatively untouched, and it’s so majestic and serene that even those who are not beach lovers can’t help but be enamored by its beauty. Plus, Glan is a heritage town that’s rich in culture and history as much as it is with wildlife and aquatic life.
Dahican Beach, Mati, Davao Oriental
Lastly, we have the Dahican Beach in Mati, Davao Oriental. A 7-km stretch of white-sand beach, it can make any beach bum (and even those who don’t like water very much) fall in love with it. And although it may not be as popular as the shorelines of Cloud 9 in Siargao, it’s still a beautiful place to go swimming, sunbathing, and even surfing.
Wrapping Up
So there you have it! These vacation spots, alongside those mentioned in the previous articles, are places you should consider visiting if you’re making plans to get a salary loan and go on an extended summer holiday. Better make plans with these destinations in mind if you want to have an unforgettable summer this year.
