Little-Known But Great Summer Vacation Spots in Visayas – Part 2

Last time, we uncovered some of the best yet hidden summer gems in Visayas. But since we just explored four of them, here are four more spots in the region you should consider spending your cash loan on and visit as soon as possible.

Bojo River, Aloguinsan, Cebu City

Due to seawater entering its streams during high tides, the riverbanks of Bojo River not only make ideal nesting sanctuaries for mothering fishes, but they also make great ecosystems for planktons and mangroves. And despite it being not so well known as other Visayas destinations, going there is relatively easy. Listed in Green Destination’s Top 100 Sustainable Destinations in 2016, you can book and enjoy a cruise along the river with a professional guide, and you’ll be introduced to some of the mangrove species that make their homes there.

Limasawa Island, Limasawa, Leyte

Leyte’s Limasawa Island is best known for its amazing coastlines, unspoiled white sands, clear waters, and relative hiddenness. Locals living there are friendly and accommodating, and the seafood they serve there is relatively cheaper. Oh, and in case you don’t know, it’s where the first Catholic mass in the Philippines was held long ago.

Ulan Ulan Falls, Biliran

People who visited Ulan Ulan Falls in Biliran claims to this day that they’ve never tasted sweeter waters elsewhere. Indeed, it’s one of the hidden summer gems you need to see when you’re in Visayas during the hot season. Getting there is just a 30-minute ride away from the town, and there’s a 20-minute hike down the waterfalls. Although the trails get slippery when it’s raining, the hike is generally smooth. And if you want to go swimming, just walk upstream for 10 minutes until you see the Recoletos, the smaller falls that cascades down into a vast natural basin.

Sambauan Island, Biliran

Speaking of Biliran, you might as well check out Sambauan Island if you’re already in the province. Though smaller than other islands in Visayas and the Philippines, it has one of the best scenic views you’ll ever set your eyes on. It’s home to 10 of the most beautiful falls in the region, with the three most popular being Casiawan, Kasabangan, and Tinago. Plus, it has other waterfalls that are yet to be uncovered by adventurers.

The Takeaway

So there you have it! These are some of the best summer destinations to consider if you’re planning a vacation in Visayas. If you’ve just got the money from your personal loan, then best use it to plan your trip there now!
